Defermation of character
I am a memember of a national organization that is divided into sub chapters that make up the organization. because i am a member of this organization what ever I do i represent the whole organization. Recently my chapter was sanction for suspension base on hear say rumors of an illegal activity. When i ask for proof of illegal activity they ignore the proof but has place an suspension on my chapter. Can i sue for defermation of character although they think they punishing the chapter they are really hurting the members who has yet to see a burden of proof of illegal activity.

There is insufficient information to respond. What was the hearsay rumors of illegal activity? Was it based on an individual who did something allegedly wrong or on your chapter as a whole?
